
Dr. Yahaya Madaki
Dr. Yahaya Saidu Madaki is an accomplished environmental management professional with over 19 years of diverse experience in sustainable waste management, environmental policy development, and education. A dynamic leader and natural facilitator, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional competence across various roles, including as a technologist, lecturer, facilitator, project supervisor, and program coordinator.
Dr. Madaki’s extensive research and international engagements in environmental management, climate change, and rural water supply and sanitation have equipped him with the ability to address complex environmental challenges. His expertise enables him to effectively develop and communicate strategies to manage pollution, mitigate climate impacts, and address water-related diseases while engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Currently, Dr. Madaki serves as a Chief Lecturer and Researcher at the Niger State School of Health Technology in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. Additionally, he is a Facilitator and Thesis Supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria, Minna Study Centre, where he mentors postgraduate students in environmental and public health disciplines.
Dr. Madaki holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Environmental Management from the University of Malaysia Sarawak, as well as advanced degrees in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Technology Minna. His professional training includes specialized courses in solid waste management from the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and environmental management in the tropics from the Technical University of Denmark.
His career achievements are further supported by professional certifications such as the International Waste Manager Certification (Technical) and the Environmental Health Officer Certificate. He is an active member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science.
Throughout his career, Dr. Madaki has consistently contributed to institutional growth through his leadership, motivational skills, and commitment to achieving organizational goals. His efforts in lecturing, research, and general management have made a significant impact on advancing environmental sustainability and public health in Nigeria and beyond.
